Lakeside House

A modern hillside residence I designed to complement the natural landscape around it. The building follows the slope of the hill, and I used local stone materials to sort of mimic the rocky terrain its in. I shot it from down on the water to emphasize how the building sits in its environment, as I always really enjoy giving nature space in my renders, I spent a lot of time getting the "nighttime" lighting right, especially how it bounces and reflects off the lake surface.

Dream House

An early concept for what I imagined as the perfect artist's retreat. I made this when I was just starting out with Blender, and wanted to design something I would genuinely love to live and work in. The house is modern and unassuming from the outside, but I focused on all the small details that make this space one that I only I could have designed: plants unorthodoxly hanging from the walls and roof, water features inside, curtains on every window. I also challenged myself with a lot more practical modeling, sliding windows, doors, lamps. Just to get familiar with architectural rendering in Blender.

California Seaside House

To put my accurate modeling and realistic rendering skills to the test, I wanted to recreate a picture of a house as accurately as I possibly could. I took a reference video from a house touring video and tried to match everything 1-to-1. I used external software to reverse-engineer the exact camera angle and focal length, then modeled the entire scene with the reference as a background overlay. A lot of the final accurate realism came down to post-processing in Photoshop too. I manually matched the colors through trial and error and even added fake lens imperfections to make it practically indistinguishable from the photograph (apart from the missing real estate agent).
